bringing your favorite mobile apps

Nothing much to say other than I love technologies and very excited about Windows Phone 7. I hope to be active and create some apps which I blog about.

Hi, must say that you’re making some awsome looking WP7 apps. Especially love the look of your XBMC app. Are there any chances you might create a similar app for Mediaportal?

Just wanted to say I love your TVersity Remote app. It’s clearly very well made and has been performing flawlessly on my HTC Trophy (Mango build 7712). Despite having already paid for the competing ‘MyMedia WP7’ app, I have made the switch to TVersity Remote because it works better and looks so great!

Only issue I have with the app is design related: I love that it displays AlbumArt for my music (which is what I mainly use it for), but it seems it derives the art from the folder rather than the actual mp3/audio file. The result of this is that multiple singles placed in a folder all share the same image. As someone who has painstakingly tagged all his music with correct AlbumArt I find this quite annoying and was wondering if you could add an option to the settings to have AlbumArt derived from either the actual Audio Files or Folder?
[Note: I am suggesting an ‘option’ (rather than change it outright) as I realize that for the many people who do not have music as well tagged as me, having this alternative as default would result in far fewer tracks showing images…]

Also, if you’re planning any sort of Beta for a Mango version of the app, I’m sure many devs/testers (myself included) would love the oportunity to give it a whirl if you get the word out to some of the WP Blogs (WPCentral, WMPowerUser, etc…)

I love your media buddy app. I have one request. I store my home movies in a .wtv format using todvrms since it is more seekable and just seems to play better on my system. Remote Potato sees the .wtv files in my movies folder under videos and plays them fine from a web browser. Through Media Buddy I can see and play all other file types like .mkv, but under the Media\Videos\Movies section it doesn’t even show the .wtv files, but I do see the movie folders. I would hope it is just an easy fix by allowing .wtv as a valid video file extension, and if I see them, I’m asusming they’ll play fine since they work in the browser. Hopefully you’ll be releasing a Mango version of Media Buddy soon and can just add this feature. Thank you for your time.

Sorry, I was wrong in my last post, my .wtv files aren’t playing right through the remote potato web browser, so I wouldn’t expect them to work through Media Buddy either. I’ll have to work out a different format.

I downloaded the 1.1 version app and I love it! I’ve downloaded about 3 or 4 songs & I’m wondering if I’ll be charged for any of those or future songs? Also, do charges apply for any of the three options at the bottom, Amazon, …… Thank you very much for your help. I love this app!

Hey. I just bought Tversity Remote and Utorrent Remote but i have no idea hot to make a connection. I’m running windows 7 and htc trophy. Is there any “how-to” out there?

    February 27, 2012 at 12:58 pm

    • You will have to be little bit more specific about each app. For UTorrent, you need to have utorrent running on your home pc and webUI enabled. The server Ip/port depends on what machine utorrent is running on.
Similarly for Tversity remote, it would be the machine where tversity app is running and properly configured.

Is there any reason there are no torrent clients that download content to the mobile phone? All I see for windows phone are remote torrent clients, instead of download on device like Android. Why is this? Can you build one that downloads to the device itself? Would be a BIG seller no doubt…

I just bought siriusxm buddy. The first day it worked fine. However, for the last three days, it only plays for about 1 minute then repeats for about 30 seconds, then stops and says something like”error, please play from the app.” I have an XM account. Is this why? Does it work better with a sirius account?

I downloaded free ringtones v1.1 on my HTC Windows phone (Windows 7, I think). It was great, I got all sorts of ringtones (Enola Gay; Message to you Rudy etc). Now I have a new Nokia 800 Windows phone (Windows 7.5), I do not seem to be able to transfer my ringtones. So, I downloaded free ringtones v1.4 (paid version), I don’t seem to be able to get half my old ringtones, it doesn’t access amazon or zedge. Am I doing something wrong? Can you help?
